Looked
after.

// Stage 03 // Don't worry about it

Once everything's built and launched, you've got a choice. You can take it from here yourself — or you can hand it over to me to keep working, improving, and growing.

Looked After is the ongoing relationship after the build is done. Each month: a clear performance report, a catch-up call to walk through it, and ongoing implementation work — I flag what needs doing, get your sign-off where appropriate, and get it done. You stay informed and involved at the level you want to be, without becoming a marketing manager yourself.

// Audience _ 01

Who this
is for.

01

Businesses with a working digital presence that don't want to manage it themselves.

02

Owners who'd rather focus on running their business than figuring out marketing.

03

Companies that want consistent monthly visibility into how things are tracking — without sitting through a quarterly steering committee.

04

Businesses that want a single person watching everything across their channels and flagging what needs doing, before it becomes urgent.

Plenty of clients arrive here straight from Stage 02 — Build & Launch. Others come in directly at this stage if they already have everything built and just need someone to take it over.

// Monthly rhythm _ 02

What you get
each month.

The shape varies by scope, but the rhythm is consistent across every level.

// REPORT

A performance report

Last month's numbers in the context of 6–12 month trends. Plain language, not metric soup. The point is to surface what changed and why, not overwhelm you with data.

// CALL

A catch-up call

30–60 minutes, depending on engagement level. I walk you through the report, what's working, what's not, and what's coming next.

// MANAGE

Active management of in-scope channels

Your SEO & Analytics base pack (the foundation underneath everything: GA4, GTM, Search Console, Bing Webmaster, technical/on-page/local SEO, Google Business Profile) plus whichever paid deep-dives apply: Web Design & Development, AI Search & GEO, Paid Search, Paid Social.

// PROACTIVE

Proactive recommendations

I flag things as they come up: a new opportunity, a problem brewing, a wasted-spend pattern, a content gap. You don't have to ask.

// IMPLEMENT

Implementation work

Most recommendations get implemented as part of the retainer. Larger items get flagged, you decide whether to proceed, and I do the work with your sign-off.

// SUPPORT

Email or Slack support

Between calls, for genuine questions — not for routing every minor change.

The "no surprises" principle: every recommendation gets surfaced. Every significant change gets your sign-off. You're never out of the loop on what's happening to your digital presence — you're just not the one having to figure out what needs to happen.

// Levels _ 03

Plan
levels.

Priced by scope, not by tier. These are starting points; the actual fee is scoped against your specific situation.

Light

~$1,000/mo

One service area covered. Basic monitoring and reporting. Monthly call. Suits a single channel that needs steady attention rather than active rebuild.

Standard

~$1,500/mo

Two service areas. One advertising platform actively managed. Monthly call. Most common entry point.

// Most common entry point

Full

~$2,000–2,500/mo

Three or more service areas. Multiple platforms. Monthly call. Proactive recommendations as opportunities arise.

Comprehensive

~$2,500–3,500/mo

Everything across all services. Multiple platforms. Quarterly strategy reviews on top of the monthly rhythm. Deeper reporting.

Specific fees confirmed in writing after a discovery conversation. Setup work — auditing current accounts, fixing baseline issues, implementing tracking — is charged as a one-off setup fee at the start of the plan, separate from the monthly fee. Setup fees range $500–$3,000 depending on scope.

// ACNC charities: 25% off all monthly fees and setup fees

// Structure _ 04

How this
actually works.

Most plans are month-to-month by default. Thirty days notice to cancel, no contracts, no exit fees. The trust signal is that you stay because the work is good, not because you're locked in.

Opt-in 12-month contract

Predictable pricing for a year, a 5% commitment discount on the monthly fee. Available on any plan level. Genuinely opt-in; chosen, not pushed.

Web design + hosting bundle

When Looked After includes hosting for a website I built or maintain, the plan carries a mandatory 12-month minimum. The build is priced assuming ongoing care delivers margin over time. SLAs apply.

Annual review: at the 12-month mark, the monthly fee is reviewed. Default annual adjustment is 5%, transparent in the original proposal — no surprise rate hikes at year 2. Larger adjustments need explicit conversation. The escalator can also go down if costs allow it.

Ad spend is always paid by you directly to Google, Meta, Microsoft, or LinkedIn — never bundled into my management fee. Recommended minimums: $1,000/mo per platform for Google and Meta, $2,000/mo for LinkedIn. Below those, the data is too thin to optimise effectively, and I'll say so up front.

// Out of scope _ 05

What's
not included.

Honest scope sells better than over-promised scope.

The boundary is roughly: anything technical, configurational, analytical, or optimisation-focused is in scope. Anything creative, content-heavy, or audience-relationship-building is out of scope or referred elsewhere.

// Examples _ 06

What this
looks like.

Illustrative plan shapes — drawn from the kinds of clients NSD is built to work with. Real plans are scoped against your specific situation.

// SHAPE 01

Local trades business

Four-person Geelong plumbing business on a Light–Standard at ~$1,500/mo covering Google Ads management, monthly performance reporting, local SEO monitoring, and the monthly call. They spend $1,200/mo on ad spend directly to Google. Web hosting bundled as part of the 12-month minimum from the build.

// SHAPE 02

Regional charity

Small ACNC-registered environmental charity in regional Victoria on a Light at ~$750/mo (25% charity rate applied to the $1,000 base) covering Google Ad Grant management, basic SEO monitoring, hosting, and a monthly catch-up call. Their up-to-USD-$10,000/month Google Ad Grant costs them nothing.

// SHAPE 03

Small e-commerce brand

Two-person homewares brand running both Meta and Google Ads on a Full at $2,000/mo (or $1,900/mo on the opt-in 12-month contract) covering active management of both ad platforms, monthly reporting with revenue attribution, and the monthly call. They spend ~$4,000/mo total on ad spend.

// SHAPE 04

Professional services firm

Six-person Melbourne migration agency on a Comprehensive at $2,800/mo covering SEO content briefs, Google Ads management, conversion tracking, monthly reporting with quarterly strategy reviews, and the monthly call. They spend ~$2,500/mo on Google Ads directly. Month-to-month plan.

These are illustrative shapes, not case studies. Your plan will look different.

// FAQ _ 07

Common
questions.

How do I know if I need Looked After or just an occasional check-in?
If your channels need active management — ad campaigns running, SEO content shipping, conversion tracking that needs regular sanity checks — you need ongoing care. If everything's stable and you just want a quarterly review, a paid Health Check once a year is probably better value than a retainer.
Can I start at this stage if I haven't worked with you before?
Yes. Some clients have everything built and just want someone to manage it going forward. The setup phase covers the audit and onboarding work that would otherwise have happened during a Build & Launch project.
What happens at the 12-month mark?
The monthly fee is reviewed against the published 5% default escalator. The escalator is in your original proposal, so there's no surprise. If costs are running below 5%, the increase can be lower — backed by quarterly cost-review data, not eyeballed. Larger increases need explicit conversation.
Can I scale up or down month to month?
Yes, within reason. Scope changes get talked about on the monthly call and reflected in the next month's fee. Adding a new channel or pulling one out is a conversation, not a renegotiation.
Do you take percentage of ad spend?
No. Flat monthly management fee, separate from your ad spend. Percentage-of-spend pricing incentivises spending more, not spending better. Ad spend goes directly to the platforms — never bundled into my fee.
