// SPEED
A mobile page-load speed of 4.8 seconds where Google's "Good" Core Web Vitals threshold is under 2.5 — and the specific images, scripts, or fonts causing it.
Before you spend thousands on your digital marketing — SEO, AI search, paid ads, social — get your Digital Health Check. It'll give you a solid base to start from, instead of guessing.
The Health Check grades your digital presence against seven pillars in plain language — not service categories. Each pillar gets a grade in the PDF, with the specific finding behind it.
Can the right people find you — in search, on the map, and when AI tools get asked?
Do visitors quickly get what you do and whether you're right for them?
Do the right people trust you when they land?
Can someone who's interested actually take the next step without getting stuck?
Can people actually use your site — on a phone, quickly, without barriers?
Can you tell what's working, instead of guessing?
Is your setup safe, owned properly, and something you could hand on if you needed to?
No numbers — each pillar lands on one of five plain grades:
| // Grade | // What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Poor | Something here is actively costing you opportunities right now. Worth looking at first. |
| Fair | It works, but real gaps are holding your results back. |
| Good | Solid. Nothing's broken, and there's clear room to improve. |
| Strong | Working well. Only small gains left to find. |
| Excellent | Genuinely leading. Little to add. |
Each grade comes with the findings underneath it — the specific things that earned it, plus a plain starting point. You always see the working, not just the verdict.
The Basic Health Check works only from what's visible from the outside — your public website, search results, Google Business Profile, social profiles. That's an honest, useful picture, and it covers all seven pillars.
But some things just aren't visible from the outside: whether your tracking is actually recording real enquiries, whether you can tell what's genuinely working, whether the right access and ownership sit behind the scenes. Those depend on what's inside your accounts. For anything in that bucket, the Basic version gives you an honest read from the public side and flags where a proper look inside would confirm it — so a finding might read “on public evidence this looks Strong; confirming whether it's genuinely leading would mean a look inside your analytics, search, and conversion data — that's the In-Depth version.”
Claiming a top grade off data I can't actually see would be guesswork dressed up as a finding, so I won't. The In-Depth version is where I get that look inside — not a better Health Check, just a deeper one, for the parts the outside view can't reach.
// Process
Pick a 45-minute slot via the calendar. The booking form asks for your name, email, phone, business name, and website. If you've ticked deep-dives in the In-Depth version below, your selection is auto-filled into the booking notes — edit it before submitting if anything's off.
Before the call, I run the Health Check at the depth you chose. For the In-Depth version, I'll send instructions for granting read-only access to the platforms relevant to your ticks (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, etc.) plus a short intake questionnaire (your goals, current challenges, what you've tried).
On the 45-minute call, I walk you through the Health Check findings — pillar by pillar, grades visible — plus a quick what-to-do-first summary. No hard sell.
You get the PDF after the call. Yours to keep, whether you work with me further or not.
// Patterns
Sample finding-shapes — illustrative, not specific to any client. These aren't case studies; they're the kinds of patterns that come up across many businesses. Yours will look different.
// SPEED
A mobile page-load speed of 4.8 seconds where Google's "Good" Core Web Vitals threshold is under 2.5 — and the specific images, scripts, or fonts causing it.
// TRACKING
Conversion tracking installed but not firing on form submit, so the business has been flying blind on which campaigns are actually working.
// GBP
A Google Business Profile claimed but no posts in 14 months, missing categories, and the wrong opening hours during the holiday season.
// PIXEL
A Meta Pixel firing the same purchase event twice, doubling reported revenue and corrupting audience targeting.
// ADS
Google Ads bidding on broad-match terms wasting around 40% of spend on irrelevant searches, with no negative-keyword discipline.
// BRAND
Strong branded search demand on the business name, with no campaign defending it — competitors paying to bid on it.
// PLUGINS
A WordPress site with eleven plugins, three of them outdated, all of them slowing the site down on mobile.
// AI
A site invisible in ChatGPT and Perplexity results for the most relevant business questions, despite ranking on Google.
// What it won't
It won't give you a finished plan of attack — that's the Strategic Digital Roadmap (Stage 3), a separate paid follow-up I recommend conversationally on the call after the Health Check has been delivered, when it makes sense.
It won't tell you whether the agency you've been working with is genuinely bad or just badly briefed — that's a separate conversation, usually one I have on the In-Depth walkthrough.
And it won't surface things only your team would know (commercial priorities, internal politics, what you've already ruled out).
The Health Check shows you where you stand digitally; the rest of the picture lives with you.

// Examples
Invented but realistic — composites of the kind of work this business is built to do. Frame: "the kind of engagement an SMB owner might have", not testimonials.
// SHAPE 01
Wants more local jobs. Website is five years old, the Google Business Profile is half-finished, spending $1,200/month on Google Ads through an agency that hasn't sent a report in three months.
// SHAPE 02
Volunteer-run, tight budget, ACNC-registered. WordPress site nobody can update, no analytics, candidate for a Google Ad Grant.
// SHAPE 03
Wants an inbound pipeline that doesn't depend on the founders' personal networks. Established business, real revenue, no in-house marketing person.
